Our
second Zoom meeting was held on the 7th July. Everyone was in good
spirits and itching to get out in their cars and meet up. So we decided on an
evening drive to Arnside for a chippy tea. Alex sent out an email to
members and took orders from those wanting to take part. The plan was to
meet on the promenade rather than travel in convoy. Nine cars took part,
5 MG’s and 4 every day cars.
We were fortunate to be able to park alongside each
another... socially distanced of course !!! The weather wasn't in our
favour and instead of sitting in the warm evening sunshine to eat our fish and
chips we took shelter from the wind in our cars…..except for Les &
Christine who decided to brave the cold ! We still don’t know
whether our Isle of Man holiday will go ahead in Sept, currently the
borders are still closed to non residents. Monday, 27 July 2020

June 2020
As you can imagine there is nothing to report this month
but I just thought I would say “hello" and hope everyone is keeping safe
and well. I notice from your reports some of you are venturing out in your cars
and I hope it won’t be long before we are all allowed to meet in groups again.
We were very disappointed to have had to cancel our holiday to Yorkshire in May
but we still have our trip to the Isle of Man booked for September…if we have
to cancel there’s always next year!! We
decided to have a Zoom meeting this month. John and Alex set it up and we all
appeared on the screen one by one. The main topic of conversation was our
lockdown hairstyles! Hopefully we will be having another one next month with
perhaps more members joining in. Sending our best wishes to you all. Keep safe.
Sue.
