April 2019

Our monthly meeting was held on the 2nd April and was well attended. We welcomed new members Mike and Hazel who are the proud owners of an MG TD, a first for our club.
On the 14th April nine cars met at Sizergh for our first run of the year which Roger and Sue had volunteered to organise. It was a chilly day but dry and wth our ‘Tulip’ sheets at the ready we set off  on the first part of the run which took us to Brigsteer, the Lythe Valley, Cartmel and finishing at Holker Hall for coffee where more members were waiting to join us. For the second leg we headed towards Bouth, north to Hawkshead then back down to Newby Bridge, over Strawberry Bank to Bowland Bridge for lunch at the Hare and Hounds. Thanks Roger and Sue for a grand day out.

We are now looking forward to our holiday in Scotland in May. A report on that next month.

February 2019

The new venue for our monthly meeting proved to be a great improvement from the previous one. Jim and Maz suggested a short “use any car” run finishing with lunch at The Green Farm Cafe at Ireby. For varying reasons only ten members were free that day so the run was cancelled but we all still  met at the cafe for lunch. New members Bob and Sheila (sorry if not spelt right !) were very disappointed to find they were the only ones in an MG…...  Shame on us!

January 2019

Following on with tradition, we started the year with an Xmas/ New Year lunch. This year, on the 13th January, 31 members met at The Crooklands Hotel near Kendal for a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Thank you John and Alex for doing the organising.  We have another busy year planned and we are looking forward to our first outing.  Wishing you all a happy year of motoring!       Sue.
