April started with our monthly meeting when we
welcomed yet another new member, Anthony. I hope you have all taken full
advantage of the unusually dry weather this month to get out and about in
your MGs. Our first run of the year was on Drive it Day. As I previously
mentioned, because of the increase in fuel prices, we decided to reduce the
number of mile driven and make it more about the rendezvous. Holker Hall was
chosen to meet for coffee and a catch -up. It was sunny and warm enough to sit
outside and as more and more members arrived we had to extend the table!
Everyone was in good spirits and happy to be finally out in our MGs. After an
hour of chit chat it was time to move on to our next destination, the Station
Inn at Oxenholme. Ten cars set off lead by Martin and Brenda who promised us
a “magical mystery tour” and that is just what we got. Using back roads
and lanes we meandered through woodland full of bluebells and trees covered in
blossom finally arriving at Oxenholme two hours later. It was a very enjoyable
way of spending a Sunday. Thank you Martin and Brenda. Next month we are off to
the Isle of Man. Happy motoring.

March 2022
Turnout was low for this month’s meeting as is often the case this time of year but we were joined by new member Michael.
It has been suggested that due to the rising cost of fuel our monthly drives should be more about choosing a venue to meet up rather the drive to get there. We think this would be a good compromise as we don’t want to cancel them altogether. Something to be discussed at our next meeting.

February 2022
Unfortunately we had to cancel our December
meeting and the New Year's lunch booked for January due to
covid fears, but we are back with a newly put together program and we are
looking forward to a more “normal” year. February’s meeting was well attended,
which was good to see. Our first outing is scheduled for March, weather
permitting and we have re scheduled our Isle of Man holiday for May. Wishing
you all a successful year ahead.
