Strickland arms for a circular drive through and over the ’Forrest of Bowland’ East of Lancaster.
The team covered a distance of some eighty miles with hoods
down despite the potential of heavy rain, the landscape and views from the high
roads were superb.
Needless to say refreshments needed to be taken en route.
Two stops were made, the first at the Bridge House Farm near Wray for
coffee and enormous scones.
Later stopping for lunch at Hark the Bounty a fine old in at
Slaidburn. Replete the party returned via Dunsop Bridge, the Trough of
Bowland and Crook of Lune.
A ‘Grand Day Out’ covering parts of Cumbria, North
Yorkshire, and Lancashire.
