We started October with our club meeting, spending most
of the evening planning next year’s calendar. We also congratulated Mick and
Barbara on their recent engagement. Our last planned run of the year was a
“tulip” organised by John and Kathy. Eight cars left Sizergh and followed the
A591 towards Windermere turning right at Ings to join the A592. Thick fog
greeted us at the summit of Kirkstone Pass but soon cleared as we descended
into Patterdale and Glenridding. Coffee was at The Royal Hotel at Dockray. Resetting our trips, we continued onto Pooley
Bridge then navigated our way through the lanes and villages west and east of
the M6 finishing at The Black Swan Inn at Culgaith where we enjoyed a very good
lunch. From there we all made our own
way home. Thank you John and Kathy for a very enjoyable day out. Sue
