Our
run planned for the 29th Sept went ahead despite days of heavy rain. As a
precaution some members used “ordinary” cars but there were 2 F’s . Leaving
Sizergh we took to the high ground through Levens village then picked up the A6
to Milnthorpe then onto Wray for coffee at the garden centre. We soon found
navigating the puddles was slowing us down en route south to Slaidburn then
east to Long Preston. The plan was to carry on in a big loop to Hawes and
back to Kendal but there was so much flooding we decided to call it a day and
headed to the Watershed Mill at Settle for another much needed coffee. Our
final stop was a late lunch at The Station Inn at Oxenholme.
On
the 22nd Oct ten members had a very enjoyable day out at The British Commercial
Vehicle Museum at Leyland. Well worth a visit and the toasted teacakes come
highly recommended!!
