July has been a quiet time for the club. There were a few
more members at this months meeting than last months but i think holidays are
still affecting attendance.
We still managed a tulip run on the 14th which
John and Kathy had organised. It was a local route and in two parts. As there were only four cars we followed in
convoy on part one. Leaving Sizergh we headed south over The Mosses towards
Milnthorpe and then through Sandside to
Arnside finishing at Holgates Caravan Park for coffee. We then set off
for part two using the tulip. Leaving Holgates we headed west through
Silverdale, Yealand and over the M6 (or was it under ?) then north through
various small villages back to Sizergh. But we had not finished yet as there
was still a northen loop to navigate through Brigsteer, Crook and through the
Lythe Valley finishing at the Gilpin Bridge Inn for lunch. We didn’t cover many
miles but it was quite challenging. Despite a few wrong turns everyone arrived for lunch on time. Thanks John and Kathy for your hard work
organising the run.
