October 2019

Our run planned for the 29th Sept went ahead despite days of heavy rain. As a precaution some members used “ordinary” cars but there were 2 F’s .  Leaving Sizergh we took to the high ground through Levens village then picked up the A6 to Milnthorpe then onto Wray for coffee at the garden centre. We soon found navigating the puddles was slowing us down en route south to Slaidburn then east to Long Preston.  The plan was to carry on in a big loop to Hawes and back to Kendal but there was so much flooding we decided to call it a day and headed to the Watershed Mill at Settle for another much needed coffee. Our final stop was a late lunch at The Station Inn at Oxenholme.

On the 22nd Oct ten members had a very enjoyable day out at The British Commercial Vehicle Museum at Leyland. Well worth a visit and the toasted teacakes come highly recommended!!

September 2019

Our meeting on the 3rd was well attended and we welcomed new members Ian and Diane.  We still have two runs pending one on the 29th September and one in October to complete our calendar for 2019.  We have already started compiling next years.
Eight of our members attended the Potteries Run at the beginning of September, stopping off at the Avro Heritage Museum Woodford on the way down and on the homeward journey had a very enjoyable visit to the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre.  Well done to Colin and Carol for winning the prize for “furthest travelled” to the event.
