Drive it Day

As I write this report we are two days away from our holiday in North Wales. Most of the April meeting was spent finalising travel arrangements. Also on the agenda was a “drive it day” drive on the 26th April and a decision was made to accept an invitation to join Wigton Motor Club at Dalemain.Under blue skies four cars left The Strickland Arms and headed north on the scenic A6 calling at Lowther Castle for coffee and scones. It was then onward to Dalemain to join 150 or so cars on display. The day ended with a drive past Ullswater  over Kirkstone Pass into Windermere then a short cut through the Lythe Valley where everyone went their separate ways.

March report

We held our March monthly meeting as usual but with a few members absent. It was suggested we repeat the tour of the Furness Peninsula as some members were unable to join us last year. It was scheduled for the 29th March but unfortunately had to be cancelled at the last minute due to inclement weather. However 9 of us met for lunch at the  Clarkes Hotel at Rampside. We will re-schedule  the run for later in the year.              Sue
